Ogun begins online ‘I Am Alive’ verification for pensioners

Ogun State Government, through Bureau of State Pensions in the Office of the Head of Service, has begun online verification for retirees on the state’s pension payroll tagged: ‘I Am Alive’.

A statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Bureau of State Pensions and Chairman of the Pension Fund Management Committee, Mrs. Arinola Adetayo, said the exercise began on Monday and will run till May 8.

She said the verification is aimed at confirming the status of pensioners on the state payroll as part of efforts by the government to improve the welfare of retirees and ensure pension administration remains transparent and efficient.

The statement said retirees were required to download Ogun State Pensioners App on their Android or iOS mobile devices through the Google Play Store or Apple Store.

After installing the application, pensioners are expected to complete the setup process by entering their Personal Enrolment Number (PEN) and registering phone number before submitting the details.

They will then follow the prompts on the platform, including taking a photograph through the app, to successfully complete the verification process.

The bureau urged affected retirees to take advantage of the digital platform and participate in the exercise within the stipulated period to confirm their status and remain on the state’s pension payroll.
