The Lagos State Government has taken delivery of a new set of 24-car trains to strengthen operations on the Lagos Red Line rail system.
The State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced this on his official Facebook page.
According to the governor, the additional rolling stock is expected to significantly improve passenger capacity, reduce waiting time and enhance the overall commuting experience for residents who depend on the rail line for daily transportation across the state.
He noted that the development forms part of ongoing efforts by the state government to build a more efficient and reliable transport system capable of serving Lagos’ growing population and easing traffic congestion in the city.

“We have received a new set of 24-car trains to strengthen the Lagos Red Line fleet. This will improve capacity, reduce wait times and make daily commuting easier for Lagosians,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
The Lagos Red Line, part of the state’s broader rail infrastructure plan, is designed to connect key areas and provide a faster alternative to road transport, which is often burdened by heavy traffic.
The government says it remains committed to expanding and improving public transportation networks to support economic activity and improve mobility across the state.
