The Eyo Iperu Carnival Committee has officially released the approved procession order and operational guidelines for the 2026 edition of the cultural festival, scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 25.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Media and Strategy Unit of the committee led by Comrade Azeez Akinbowale, the organizers said the structured movement plan is aimed at ensuring orderliness, preserving cultural integrity, and achieving seamless coordination throughout the procession.
The following sequence and designated route points have been established for all participating Igas: 1. Iga Pakerike — Texaco 2. Iga Jalugba — Attenda 3. Iga Odoru — Elejina House 4. Iga Fibigbuwa — Elejina House 5. Iga Imeji — Itaagan 6. Moibi Akinsanya — Itaagan 7. Balogun Adebutu — Itaagan 8. Iga Mogunshe Amororo — Sewolu 9. Iga Agbonmagbe — Iregun 10. Iga Agbehinsha — Iregun 11. Iga Alaregun — Iregun 12. Amororo — Idarika 13. Sosan — Ayegbami 14. Olotu Erelu — Garage
The procession is expected to commence at exactly 7:30 a.m. from Iga Pakerike, with all participating groups required to assemble ahead of time to prevent delays.
To further enhance coordination during the event, the committee directed all Olori Igas to exchange phone contacts prior to the procession. This, it noted, would facilitate real-time communication and enable swift responses to any logistical challenges that may arise.
The committee emphasized that strict adherence to the outlined guidelines is crucial to delivering a successful and culturally enriching carnival that reflects the heritage and traditions of Iperu Remo.
It also called on stakeholders, participants, and members of the public to cooperate fully in ensuring a smooth and historic outing.
