Ogun lawmaker, Seun Adesanya announces defection from PDP to APC

The lawmaker representing Ijebu North East State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. (Barr) Segun Adesanya has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adesanya in a statement signed by his special assistant on Media, Temitayo Adekola and made available to Newsmen on Wednesday cited the lingering internal crisis within the PDP as the major reason for his decision. According to him, the crisis, which has persisted for about two years, has weakened unity within the party and hampered its effectiveness in political engagement and governance.

The lawmaker, however, expressed appreciation to the PDP for providing him the platform to serve his constituents over the past three years. He acknowledged the support and confidence reposed in him by party leaders and members during his time in the opposition party.
