Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade and forward Asisat Oshoala headline a 28-player squad invited by interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen for Nigeria’s next 2028 Olympic qualifying assignment against Comoros.
Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Michelle Alozie, Oluwatosin Demehin and Ashley Plumptre, as well as midfielders Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne and Jennifer Echegini, are also among the players called up for the two-legged fixture.
Nigeria will host Comoros in both legs of the tie, with the first match scheduled for October 9 and the return fixture billed for October 13 at the Remo Stars Sports Stadium, Ikenne-Remo.
The arrangement follows Comoros’ inability to provide a CAF-approved venue for international matches, leaving Nigeria to stage both encounters.
The invited players are expected to report to the Super Falcons’ camp at the AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode on October 3 as preparations begin for the qualifiers.
Other players included in the squad are Comfort Erhabor and Christiana Uzoma, while the defensive options include Shukurat Oladipo, Farida Abdulwahab, Glory Ogbonna, Glory Edet and Tumininu Adeshina.
The midfield also features Joy Igbokwe, Favour Nkwocha, Fatimoh Solaty and Suliat Abideen, while Flourish Sabastine, Shakirat Moshood, Joy Omewa, Blessing Nkor, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, Janet Akekoromowei and Uchenna Kanu complete the attacking options.
Eguavoen was appointed on an interim basis earlier this month to oversee the Super Falcons’ Olympic qualifying campaign.
Nigeria received a bye into this stage of the African qualifiers, while Comoros reached the round after a dominant 30-0 aggregate victory over Sudan.
The Super Falcons will need to progress through the subsequent rounds of the qualifying series to secure one of Africa’s two places at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Nigeria, Ghana suffer heavy defeats in AFCON 2027 Qualifiers
Nigeria and Ghana endured difficult outings in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Super Eagles lost 3-0 away to Guinea-Bissau after opening Group L with a 2-1 comeback win over Madagascar. The result would put Guinea-Bissau on six points from two games, while Nigeria remain on three.
Madagascar and co-hosts Tanzania drew 1-1 in the group’s other match.
Ghana were beaten 4-2 at home by Gambia. Elsewhere, Egypt recorded the day’s biggest win, 5-0 away to South Sudan, while Morocco won 2-0 in Lesotho.
Senegal edged Ethiopia 1-0, Mozambique beat Sudan 4-1, and Algeria recovered to draw 2-2 in Burundi.
For Nigeria, the margin in Bissau makes the next Group L fixtures against Tanzania more pressing: Guinea-Bissau have taken maximum points from their opening two matches, while Madagascar have collected a point since losing in Uyo.
